Style Steal in pink and green (and purple)

Are you obsessed with Pinterest? I am. I’ve been on there for a few years now and I saved thousands of images on my old account. However, when I started The Grey Brunette in January, I wanted to start afresh with a new account. I’d love it if you would follow me there! You can find my account at Grey Brunette. Anyway, it’s through Pinterest that I chose my outfit today. I spotted this stunning look (street style at its prettiest) and knew I had to do a style steal in pink and green! I would’ve liked to share the original image but I could not find its’ source. So, you’ll just have to click the link if you’re interested!

There is something super pretty about pink and green (and green and purple—and green and pretty much any colour under the sun lol!). Can you tell green is my favourite colour? And my second favourite colour? Well, it’s pink! Now you know why I just had to steal this look lol.

These wide-legged trousers from Promod are a few years old now, and I just adore them. They’re in a soft corduroy-like fabric which makes them incredibly comfortable. Here are a couple of ways I’ve worn them before:

The picture on the right is a bit dark but you get the drift! I’ve just realised that I gave away both pairs of shoes in these two photos. The red ones were so uncomfortable, and so were the All Stars to be honest. The purple shoes I’m wearing in my style steal in pink and green outfit, are very comfy though. I’ve had them for many years and I adore them. I have the same pair in grey too, that Michael bought for me. Sadly, the shop where we bought them has since closed down. It’s a shame really, as it was a lovely little independent shop in a nearby town.

I was quite intrigued by the way the woman in the original image tied her pink sweater across one shoulder, so I did the same. It’s actually a pretty good idea because I find if I have it over both shoulders, it usually falls off. This way, it seems to stay put.

Here’s what the outfit looks like with the sweater on. If I had intended to wear it like this, I would’ve worn a chunky necklace, but I didn’t even give it a second thought when the sweater was around my torso! By the way, the sweater came from a Chinese shop a few years ago.

So my only accessory was the cute little purple handbag, a gift from my oldest friend, Emma. Emma is a singer and you can find her on YouTube right here. Actually, let me embed one of her videos here for you to listen to. She’s got such a gorgeous voice! Oh and that stunning bling bling ring (above) is from Swarovski (a gift from Michael).

I also want to mention these fabulous earrings. Aren’t they absolutely gorgeous? They’re so colourful and bright and blingy. They’re from Happy Ginger on Etsy, which is owned by Lucy, a lovely lady. I can’t recommend her jewellery enough.

And that’s it. My style steal in pink and green. What do you reckon? Did I succeed? It’s such a pretty original image, I wasn’t sure if I would, but to be honest, I’m quite pleased so and I’ll certainly wear it again.

How fun to tie the sweater in that manner! And Rena just did that in her post too: I had never seen it ties that way. It does make it to where you don’t need any accessories around your neck. Love the colors, I wouldn’t have thought of putting them together.

It’s funny isn’t it, Mireille? That Rena and I both did it on the same day?!

Great look. The mix of colors is fun and it looks like we both are likely the “sweater tied across the body” look.

Thanks Rena! I think it’s so weird that we both decided to try our sweaters tied that way on the same day! I think we must have been inspired by the same thing lol!

  4. Suzy, this outfit is so fabulous! I am loving the pink and green together! As you know, green is my favorite color, followed by reds and pinks. I love the unique sweater tying trick! Rena had just shared a post about this style trend. I am loving seeing it on real people! And your friend Emma is really talented! That was a beautiful performance.

Awww thanks Shelbee! Emma and I were best friends from about six years old. We lived across the street from each other and did everything together. I was so sad when we moved to Portugal when I was ten. But we never lost touch!

What a brilliant style steal! Pinterest is brilliant for outfit and interior design inspo. I have some dark green wide leg cords and I wear them so much – they just go with everything! I love them so much I’ve just ordered them in black too because they went on sale. Thanks for linking up!
