I don’t often share my thrift shop finds because I don’t often find that much! However, I popped into the charity shop in Carvoeiro the other day and came out with this cute little denim skirt. I had no idea if it would fit me because I really couldn’t be bothered to try it on. I also bought a gorgeous brightly coloured scarf and an old book on photography—all for the princely sum of €3.50! What a bargain!
When I got home, I tried on the denim skirt and was thrilled that it fit—and that it wasn’t too short! It sits on my hips as opposed to the waist, so there is a chance it might slip when I walk, but we’ll see. I’m wearing it here with a thrift shop find from earlier this year when I was shopping for photography bits and pieces. It’s a Super Dry tee and the quality is lovely. I adore the bright pink stripes, don’t you?
I hope that I’ll get lots of wear out of the denim skirt when the weather cools down. I’m looking forward to wearing it with thick tights and boots. Not that there’s much chance of that at the moment because days are still in the high 20s! I love it when winter comes round, especially with all these bloody hot flushes I’ve been having lately!
My friend, Sarah, came over to stay this week and there was lots of talk about our bloody hormones lol! She’s 47, so she’s becoming well accustomed to it all. But we had a fabulous time, catching up over a few glasses of wine. And then watching my all time favourite movie, Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman. If you haven’t seen it, or just not watched it since its release in 1998, it’s the perfect Halloween movie. And the soundtrack is to die for. Plus, it’s got Aidan Quinn in it. Need I say more?
The following day, we popped out for a coffee and a little mooch around the shops. I’m on the look out for a pair of flat (or very low heeled) tan ankle boots. I didn’t find what I was looking for, though, but I’m hopeful. It’s my current mission and I’ve chosen to accept it!

I have 2 denim skirts I need to wear soon: I have the same idea: boots and on of my slouchy sweaters with mine. Maybe that will make for a different fall/winter blog post outfit: I tend to share a lot of pants during those seasons.

The skirt is a great find! I’ve recently gotten into thrifting again & have been enjoying going with my daughter. Practical Magic is one of my all-time favorites too! I actually just watched it again about a week ago.
